Research Activity

Mathabhanga College is a UG Degree College affiliated with Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University and is situated in the rural part of Cooch Behar district of West Bengal and has a lack of infrastructure for the conduction of research of innovation. But our faculty members are involved in various collaboration with Coochbehar Panchanan Barma University, IIT Guwaahati, University of Calcutta, , Sorbonne University, Paris, University Savoie Mont Blanc, France. As per the capacity of the college, it provides the necessary support for the research work for the faculties. One faculty member has a three-year TARE project in collaboration with IIT Guwahati. Recently, a PhD scholar was awarded a degree from CBPBU under the guidance of a faculty member of Mathabhanga College.

The college authority always encourages the faculties to write research grants in the state level as well national level throughout the year. During the last five years college has received Rs. 854000/- as research grant from Government agencies.

Our faculties from Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, History, Geography, Sanskrit, Bengali, English and Economics are actively involved in research work and book publication. During last five years faculties has published 56 papers in reputed International and National journal having moderate to high impact factor and they also have publication 19 chapter in Books having ISBN numbers.

The college organizes a number of extension activities to promote the institute-neighborhood community to sensitize the students towards community needs. Several activities were carried out by NSS volunteers addressing social issues which include special camp, awareness programme. The NCC unit of the college organizes various extension activities such as tree plantation, Swachhta Abhiyan, and Kargil days, etc. Other than NSS and NCC units, the Alumni Association conducted various programs like Environmental Awareness, Tree Plantation, Blood group detection, Blood donation camps, etc. For the extension activities volunteers has been awarded by government agency during last five years.

Several memorandums of understanding have been brokered, so the collaboration provides opportunities for academic exchanges and internships. Every effort is made to establish enriching and meaningful collaborations with academic and non-academic institutions outside the college.
