Student Support & Progression
The college is always sincere in fulfilling its commitment to the needs of economically disadvantaged students. The college provides financial support to poor students through various scholarship schemes of the government. However, apart from the support based on the government scheme, the college provides free studentships (either half-free or full-free depending on the financial situation of the students concerned) to a large number of students who could not benefit from any government from their own fund. Overall, 65% of students use various scholarship programs.
College has undertaken several initiatives in the past five years to enhance the skills development programme in soft skills, life skills and ICT/Computer skills for students and faculty. The College has introduced two certified skill development courses in basic computer skills. In 2022 and 2023, the college is organizing two ICT/computer skills development workshops with the help of external stakeholders. IQAC and NSS regularly organise yoga camps for students and teachers for stress relief.
The progression of students to a higher degree in various institutes is gradually increasing over the years. Quite a significant number of students qualify for JAM in science every year and go on to pursue Masters in IITs and NITs.
A cultural and sports program is regularly organized . Students regularly participate in Inter College Meet-DPI Sports, Inter College Meet organized by CBBPU, Wushu Meet, Annual Sports, Cultural Program like Bosnto Utsav, Nabin Boron, Teachers Day Celebration, Quiz Competition, Drama Festival etc.
Every year several students have achieved top results in sports and cultural programs and won medals in university and DPI sports.
MATHABHABHANGA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (MCAA) was established on February 22, 2004. It was registered under the West Bengal Companies Registration Act, 1961, Registration No. S/IL No. 46441.
The college has a separate cell to deal with issues like complaints, quarrels, gender-related issues etc. However, the institution is proud that no single case of quarrels or gender issues has been raised during the last five years.
